With Hutton Moor's New Exerciser programme, we'll help you take a load off… and build a stronger, better-toned body, develop a great posture and enjoy a fantastic boost to your self-confidence.

For every man and woman, entering the weights area of a gym for the first time is often a leap of faith. Just the sight of all those toned bodies tirelessly pushing bench presses and resistance machines can be pretty daunting. How can I ever be as fit as them? What if everybody's looking at me?

We all have to start somewhere. Our experienced members did, and they almost certainly shared your nervousness when they began. But once users got into the swing of things and started to reap the huge benefits of weight training at Hutton Moor, they saw their fears were groundless – and their training became a serious pleasure, not a painful and uneasy chore.

In other words, if you're intimidated by the mere thought of a weights workout, don't be.

At Hutton Moor Leisure Centre we're committed to helping you, as a valued member, to shape up in the friendliest possible atmosphere. And every one of our existing members are welcome to join our New Exerciser programme: beginners and experts, male and female, fit and unfit, young and less so.

We'll ease you through the basic disciplines of weight-training and show you how to develop a well-toned, more powerful body and a posture everyone will envy. With our enthusiastic, skilful instructors making your every workout a fun-filled and happy experience, you'll meet great new friends and enjoy a refreshing sense of belonging and achievement – not to mention a fantastic boost to your self-esteem and confidence.

New Exerciser is a 5-week programme of 30-minute sessions for a maximum of 4 Hutton Moor members each time.

When you arrive, to help you really build confidence before you've even got to the gym, we'll run through the basics of free weights in a quiet, separate studio. After that we'll introduce you to the gym itself, and our fantastic range of state-of-the-art fixed weights and plate-loaded machines.

Who knows? Instead of facing indifference and fearing embarrassment, you could finish your first class with a new best friend or partner. But whatever your aims, we're certain that after a few sessions of New Exerciser at Hutton Moor, you'll be feeling so good you'll wonder what took you so long.
